Our Woodsy Bohemian shoot on 100 Layer Cake...

I just got the news today that our Woodsy Bohemian photo shoot was finally featured on 100 Layer Cake! I had such a  great time working with the team my fabulous and incredibly talented photographer friend Millie B put together.
A nod to my other wedding specialist friends Magda Nyitray who does the best makeup ever and Alicia of Reverie Events. Alicia, I had such a great time collaborating with you. We styled the table beautifully!
I remember preparing with Millie through the whee hours of the night for this shoot, making sure every detail was addressed.  We slept for a few hours and met at my studio at 5:00 am to pack up my truck with all the furniture... including this fabulous table I had custom made. We picked up one of our models and drove out to the venue.  Millie wanted us there at 7:00 am to make sure we had the best lighting for our shoot throughout the day.
As I was driving to the site that morning, I remember getting to the top of the hill ...and it literally got so foggy instantly. You couldn't see 5 feet ahead of you.  I thought "OMG, this shoot is going to be impossible with this weather!".
You know what they say.... The show must go on.. or maybe, Keep it movin'! Well we did and the weather and all that followed turned out perfectly. It was a lot of work, but it was also a great fun and wonderful experience.  Thank you guys!

And thanks so much to 100 Layer cake. It feels really great to see my flower arrangements and styling featured on a site I admire very much.

The most beautiful rose...

This is actually my favorite rose... it's called "Quick Sand". You would never know that this bloom opens to probably a 3" to 4" diameter. It is just so lovely... and the soft, neutral, blush tone is perfect alone or  pairs well with so many colors. I prefer it alone.. to me, receiving a dozen of this rose is more romantic than the red. But that's just me!
Take a look at an arrangement I did today. Hope the recipient likes it!

Enjoy..

What kind of car are you...?

I love these photos so much that it got me thinkin' a little silly, but fun! Hmmm... three different cars with three different messages.  They all say it with flowers, but which one would i be?
a. Luxe on the go
b. Vintage chic
c. Mod tree hugger

Of course I would be Luxe on the go!  I couldn't resist having it all!
Which one would YOU be?
Enjoy..

Mother's Day labor of love...

Our first Mothers day at the shop was certainly a labor of love. From our handmade pillows...

to handmade bite size cupcakes..

and a petite premade peony arrangement perfectly paired with handmade soaking salts..

Hand wrapped and tied candles...

with the loveliest bud vases.
Yellow and green for the mayor's wife and lots of color for our councilman's wife...

Carefully packaging the flowers and double checking all the cards going out for delivery... Thanks Michelle..You did a great job!

Our weekend was a sweet success.  Thanks to everyone for their support and a special thanks to my Bloomflora team!
This is me in the green and Victoriya who is the talented floral designer and photographer that worked with us this weekend (ummm... we were trying to be fabulous).

This is Miss Diana in the blue and yellow ( the store manager and my other half) with my beautiful daughter Isabella.  Michelle made our deliveries, but she was in and out so fast that we couldn't get a picture of her...!!
And finally..... my favorite picture of all...me and Isabella.
xo. I love you Bella.

Mother's Day

Okay, now that we have gotten passed the Grand Opening, we are in full swing with Mother's Day preparations! Why not "Make Mom Smile" with flowers is our simple yet beautiful tag line.  As a mother, not just a florist, flowers would most definitely make me smile. I'm sure all you moms out there would agree.
Here is a peak at our new window and the Mother's day blooms we're offering this year.
Enjoy!

We're finally open!

We are finally open! It's been three days and we have had so many well wishes.  Everyone is stopping in to see the new shop in town.

It's exciting having the windows uncovered, curious neighbors stop to see what's inside.

Blue Danube natural body scrubs smell so scrumptous, you just want to eat them up!

Fresh flowers make the shop feel complete.

We are looking forward to all the new experiences that lie ahead!!

Bridal bouquet for photo shoot...

I was so excited when I was asked to create a bridal bouquet for a photo shoot.  My client left it up to me to select the flowers, she just requested a romantic, summery bouquet comprised of white, soft pink and a touch of yellow for a nautical theme she was producing. So I went to the flower market in the city, which I absolutely loooove to do. Look at the picture below and you will completely understand why!  As soon as I saw these anemones and huge ranunculus, I was hooked. I went later on in the day.... actually 10:00 am, which is considered late,  so some of the flowers I was considering where already gone. Although, I was not disappointed and neither was my client.  She loved it.  She brought in some props the morning of the shoot and we styled and arranged more flowers in vases and off she went. As soon as I get the photos I will post them.  I cannot wait to see the final result!

Back to my shop.  Flowers conditioned and drinking...

The bouquet looks pretty in a vase too..

Enjoy!

Tangerine Tango - 2012 Pantone Color of the Year...

What a way to celebrate color!  Tangerine Tango is  the Pantone color of 2012. Ok... it can be a bit bold, but used as splashes of color, it's pretty fabulous..don't you think?

Hey... If it's good enough for Hermes, it's good enough for me..

Enjoy!

Bridal show flowers

The bridal show was a success!  All the brides were very receptive and my bouquets were used in the fashion show.  It was great to see how beautiful the brides and my flowers looked "together".
